India vs Bangladesh: Why Is Bangladesh Practicing With Pink Balls Dipped In Water?

The Bangladesh cricket team is in India for a 2 match test series. India won by an innings and 130 runs in the opening Test. Now, the final match of the series is all set to be played at the Eden Gardens.

There are two reasons why there is so much buzz around this test series.

First, this will be the first day-night test for both the teams. Second, the match will be played using a pink ball.

Both the teams are working hard to gear up for the match.

Spin all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has revealed something very interesting!

He informed that the Bangladeshi bowlers are practicing by dipping the ball dipped in water.

This step will help the pacers adapt to the dew which is likely to make things a little difficult for them while playing at night.

According to reports, both Indian, as well as the Bangladesh team, has been practicing in the twilight zone and under floodlights at the Holkar Stadium. This is helping them prepare to get used to the conditions they may likely encounter at the Eden Gardens.

Mehidy informed that his team is trying to get as much practice as possible with the pink ball.

He told reporters, “The pace bowlers will continue to bowl by dipping the ball in water in the coming days.”

“I think we can adapt in the coming days. Maybe it will skid a little more when it is wet. Spinners can get to skid the ball. There’s also likely to be bounce and turn,” he added.

He is aware that the pink ball could be a challenge and the players need to get used to it.

There is a lot of excitement among the fans ahead of India’s first day-night cricket Test. Only time will tell whether this extraordinary preparation will yield expected results for the team!
