Recently, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that there was enough time to take a decision regarding ace cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s future and everything will be clear in a few months.
Previously, coach Ravi Shastri reportedly commented that IPL 2020 will give a clear picture of Dhoni’s future.
When Ganguly was asked to comment on this, he said: “We will see what happens, there’s enough time. Of course, it will get clear (within three months).”
Dhoni hasn’t played since India’s exit from the World Cup back in July. He has also not spoken much about his future. At a recent event in Mumbai, Dhoni said that questions about his return should be asked only after January 2020.
However, Ganguly said that there was “absolute clarity” among the think-tank of the team on tackling Dhoni’s future in the game.
During a ceremony organized by Ajanta Shoes, Ganguly said, “No, there is clarity, but some things cannot be said on a public platform. There is complete clarity on MS Dhoni and you will get to know in time.”
Ganguly says that there is transparency among the Board, Dhoni and the selectors.
“When you deal with such champions — MS Dhoni is an unbelievable athlete for India — certain things have to be kept within the closed doors. It’s very transparent and everybody knows where they stand,” he said.
