Even after two weeks of the BJP-JJP-Independents coalition, Haryana is still waiting for the formation of the council of ministers.
BJP’s Manoharlal was chosen as the Chief Minister of the state whereas JJP’s Dushyant Chautala was appointed as the Deputy CM. However, the rest of the cabinet has not been appointed yet.
This is the first time Jananayak Janta Party (JJP) has fought the elections and they supported the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government.
According to a party insider, JJP is now eyeing the portfolios of Home and Finance.
Initially, the party demanded Finance, Home, Rural Development and Agriculture but eventually came down to just two portfolios – Finance and Home.
JJP seems in no mood to budge from its demand. On the other hand, the other party is not willing to give away such important portfolios to JJP. It should also be noted that the JJP ministers are mostly the first-timers.
