Over the last few days, quite a few eminent personalities from India-friendly Gulf countries speak out against the Islamophobic tweets by Indian users.
One of the people who have been actively raising their voice against issues like discrimination and communalism is Princess Hend Al Qassimi, who is a member of the royal family of the UAE.
A few days ago, the Princess shared screenshots of a few such Tweets and said that those who are “openly racist and discriminatory in the UAE will be fined and made to leave”.
In fact, she has been addressing the problem quite active on social media.
In her latest post, she pointed out the fact that the Indian population living and working in the UAE sends a huge amount of money back home.
As per a World Bank report, in 2018, India retained its spot as the world’s top recipient of remittances with its diaspora sending as much as USD 79 billion back home.
The post shared by Qassimi lists down the countries from which India receives the largest amount of remittances and UAE comes out as the top contributor, followed by USA, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
