The customers of Bharat Gas LPG will now be able to book a cylinder via Whatsapp. An official informed that Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL), which has more than 7 crore customers across India, has introduced the Whatsapp business channel in order to facilitate gas cylinder booking for its customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The source further added that this is an easy way of booking a gas cylinder.
BPCL, which is the second largest national oil marketing company was on the sell-off list last fiscal.
On Tuesday, BPCL said in its statement “From today (Tuesday), Bharat Gas (its LPG brand) customers across the country can book their cooking gas on WhatsApp,” It also said that it has introduced a Whatsapp business channel in order to facilitate the booking of gas cylinders.
LPG executive director TPeethambaran said, “Whatsapp is one of the commonly used apps, for the young and old generation alike. Being there on Whatsapp will also bring us close to customers.”
“After booking through WhatsApp, the customer will immediately get a confirmation message for LPG booking. The customer will also get a link to make a prepaid online payment for the refill. We encourage our customers to use digital payment channels in the current situation,” he added.
“The provision to book LPG from Whatsapp will make it even simpler for customers. Since Whatsapp is one of the most commonly used apps, for the younger and older generation alike, being there on this platform will bring us closer to our customers” said marketing director Arun Singh.
He informed us that the company was planning to introduce other useful features such as LPG delivery tracking. It is also working on creating safety awareness and taking feedback from customers.
