Public figures (be it actors, sports stars, politicians or spiritual leaders) are extremely influential, especially in India. Hundreds of people follow them and are affected by what they have to say about important issues.
The much-talked-about Citizenship Amendment Act is no different. In fact, their views and opinions have become more important over the past few weeks as our country is going through a difficult time.
A number of celebrities have given their opinion on the Citizenship Amendment Act. While some are opposing it, others are lauding CAA as a great step by the government.
The Government also realizes the influence these celebs have over people. It recently organized a star-studded dinner for addressing queries related to CAA. The discussion-cum-dinner was hosted by BJP Vice President Baijayant Jay Panda and Union Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. Few of the celebs who showed up are Anu Malik, Urvashi Rautela, Kailash Kher, Kunal Kohli, Vipul Shah, Ritesh Sidhwani, Prasoon Joshi, Ranvir Shorey, Bhushan Kumar, Anil Sharma, Abhishek Kapoor, and Shaan.
BJP also released a video in which various celebrities can be seen supporting the Act.
