Life’s busy. And as we lose ourselves in the daily grind, we often forget about the little things that really matter. One such thing is drinking enough water!
Although the average water requirement of a person depends on a number of internal and external factors, experts often recommend that a person should consume at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Not meeting our daily quota of water consumption may cause several health issues including muscle fatigue, headaches, dizziness, tiredness, to name a few.
Forgetting to keep yourself hydrated becomes more likely when you are preoccupied with tasks and responsibilities at work!
Here are a few simple ways to help you stay hydrated and healthy.
1. Don’t wait for thirst to strike
If you wait to actually ‘feel thirsty’ before you have your first sip of water at work, chances are that you’ll already be dehydrated by then. Be proactive! Keep taking a few sips of water from time to time.
2. Keep your water bottle handy
It is utterly important to carry your own water bottle to work. This will make it much easier for you to remember to hydrate. Plus, avoiding all that hassle to rush to the cooler for a glass of water will motivate you to drink more water.
3. Watch what you eat
Sugary snacks, processed food and even (your favorite!) coffee may end up dehydrating you. Stay away from unhealthy junk food. Staying away from highly processed foods or sugary beverages will help you remain hydrated, healthy and fight fatigue.
4. Munch on Healthy Snacks
Around 20 percent of our daily hydration is through food. Snack on healthy foods to curb sugar cravings and stay energized. Carry fruits and veggies like baby tomatoes, celery, grapefruits, strawberries and cucumbers with you.
5. Go for infused water
Drinking plain water all day is boring! Add a few pieces of cucumber or berries to your bottle and enjoy this great-tasting and healthy delight! Use your favorite fruit or water to make your very own infused water.
