The industry of Bollywood is full of Nepotism. Nepotism in no way can be ignored and has always revived in the Bollywood industry. Many of the B-town celebs are now pointing out their fingers on these fancy and glamorous award shows. They have further given out their affirmation that the awards which the stars get at the end of the year in return for their roles and performances are already pre-decided. Most of the stars simply pay for the awards and buy them.
That’s why many of the stars have now abstained from going to these glamorous award nights. Let’s have a quick look on some of these popular B-town celebs who have boycotted themselves going to the award shows:-
Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has boycotted award shows for a long time. He does not believe in award ceremonies and function, instead, he maintains a long distance from these award shows. In 1996, Aamir’s film “Rangeela” was nominated for the Filmfare Award, but the award went to Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. Since then Aamir has stopped going to the award show. He believes that people’s love and appreciation for him is the biggest award.
2. Kangana Ranaut
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has repeatedly spoken about the issue of Nepotism prevailing in Bollywood many times. During the start of her career, she was definitely part of these award shows but later she parted her ways from those. Kangana has even publicly stated many times about the Bollywood’s award system being so irrelevant. She considers these award shows as fixed and believes that lobbying takes place before these awards ceremonies are organized.
3. John Abraham
Another famous Bollywood actor John Abraham has completely expressed his negligence towards these award shows. John is quite reserved in nature. He neither likes to attend these fantasy award nights nor these glamorous film parties. He was nominated several times in the Filmfare Awards Category. But, he has very frankly shared his discontentment for these award ceremonies and stated that he has “zero respect” for these awards except the “National Award”.
4. Ajay Devgan
Ajay Devgan had already stated that he doesn’t consider these award ceremonies to be reliable at all, and has also no interest in these awards.
In one of the interviews also he revealed that organizers of these events just want to gather more and more of a crowd of stars. Therefore, they will call you up and ask you to attend the event and in return will give you the award. And, in case the stars don’t reach even till the last moment, then they will cheat you up and in turn, will give your award to another star present over there. He has lost all his faith in such awards.
5. Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Another brilliant actor in the Bollywood industry Nawazuddin Siddiqui too faced disappointment with the Indian Filmfare Awards event.
Nawazuddin has kept his opinion that after Om Puri’s demise, these award ceremonies have become “superficial” and should be “shut down”. He further stated that these award functions have lost their earnestness and integrity. It would be better if they shut down such mere ceremonies. It would be better to call it a fun-filled song and dance evening where all celebrities can join and can create an episode of themselves to be cast on television. But, mistakenly not to relate it with award functions as award functions are supposed to be reliable, prestigious, and full of integrity.
6. Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar, the gem of the Bollywood industry also does not attend any of the Bollywood Filmfare Awards events. Akshay claims that these “Private Award Organizers deal with you. If you perform there for free, then only you are eligible to be awarded a trophy.” Akshay in turn justifies that he considers taking a better fee rather than taking a trophy in exchange for his performance. Akshay further stated that he has been in the Bollywood industry for the past many years but he hasn’t got any award to date.
7. Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi also has not attended any of the award functions for a very long time. He states that even if he is given an award, he will not accept it. Emraan Hashmi says that love and appreciation of people are more valuable to him than this recognition. Once he was also a part of the award show, but in 20 minutes he got up and left.
8. Manoj Muntashir
Manoj Muntashir, a renowned and famous lyricist in Bollywood has abstained himself from attending the award functions. In 2019, he wrote the lyrics of the beautiful song “Teri Mitti” of the film “Kesari”. He was even nominated to be presented the Filmfare Award for this patriotic song full of zeal and zest. But, later the award was given to the “Apna Time Aayega” song from the film “Gully Boy”. Manoj was fully shattered hearing this and later he bid goodbye to “Awards” forever from his social media account.
9. Abhay Deol
Abhay Deol also does not like going to the award shows. After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, a post was written by him revealing the truth of award shows. He said that once he and Farhan Akhtar were sidelined in the award function for “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” film. He called the “Filmfare Awards” as “Family Fare Awards”. And since then he has boycotted these award shows.
10. Sunny Deol
Sunny Deol also does not like going to the award shows and has abstained himself completely from going to these shows. His resentment started when Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Dil To Pagal Hai” was presented with the award instead of his film “Border”.
All of the instances stated above truly reveal that Nepotism exists in the Bollywood industry to a major extent. It is high time now for the Bollywood industry to boycott Nepotism and understand the importance of the stars with real talents, motivate them, and award them. “Filmfare Awards” should be awarded on the basis of excellence, the Bollywood industry should understand this.
If Bollywood doesn’t understand this now also, then at one point of time the Bollywood industry will completely be ruined and the people with just useless talents will be left here!
